Clouds Across Time

Clouds Across Time

You are

The one who will go

Thrown far

As a pillow of clouds

Moved by the wind

Where tomorrow might

Begin again

We have

No need for the horizon

Sometimes

The bridges are surprising

Between here and there

Between here and anywhere

This is

How I hold myself together

I think of clouds

I think of better weather

Somewhere

Over there somewhere

Where I can imagine you

From here

I still can

Imagine from here

I stand

With a crystal in my hand

Seeing a future I will never understand

Stealing a moment to look into the glass

It all goes so fast

And we try to breathe

Together

Future stroke past

You will

Be the one to go

Fall and fly

Into a pillow of clouds

That softens the blow

Softens

The blowing of the wind

Into something I begin to imagine

Will begin

It all goes so fast

And when

We haven’t had enough

We want all of it again

The horizons

Between here and there

All the bridges

That once surprised us

Standing between here

And everywhere else
