As If I Were a Flower

As if I were a flower

In the garden of a convent

Growing

So slowly

Who watches from the window

Of this vacancy

Who moves by me

To the old stone seat

As if I were a flower

Growing

At your feet

Every wish

Every dream

Every prayer

Is perfume

I rise to fill the air

That fills you

There

As if I were a flower

In the garden of your hair

Winding

So gently

To make a crown

I stare

As if I were a flower

Looking up at you

Looking down

Pick me

Choose me

Lift me from my stem

Twirl me around

Break me from myself

I pray

To stand again

Held

Into your hand’s power

Heat

Sensation

As if I were a flower

In the garden

Of your imagination

Growing slowly

In this garden

I am waiting

At your feet

Lift me up

Until you hold me

Until you see me

Until you make me

Complete
