A single light moves through hours
Of darkness
A single life hovers at the edges
Of itself
Seeking to move into the greater spaces
Of love
That cannot enter a place
Where it is already
Hidden
Right there
In its own essence
Everything that is essential
Rests
And continues on
Until one boy does not
Wake up
And the light diminishes
Under the covers
Where everything will disappear
What was once a life
Is now
A memorial to be held dear
In shards
That will not come together until
We hold the edges
Of what is
Broken in our own hearts
And stand
In the absence of a dream
That used to be
Something
To believe in
