A beautiful Saturday. Here’s a poem for April 11.
By Julie Flanders 4/11/15

Time moves in from the horizon
For moments we have not yet lived

The sky blushes
The blood of a new day
Into the pale flesh of the sky

Time rushes
In its ever-present eternal way
To suck the vivid color from the mind’s eye

You almost forget
The beauty
That breathes you open wide

Time is a carnivore
Where we meet
Eating our experience
Moving the earth beneath our feet

We stand
And rise
And fall
Time waits
To feast on us all

Will you look into those hungry mortal eyes
And realize what animates your fear
Is never in the moment
Never where you are

Which is here

Here is always timeless
And real

The body falls

But the spirit rises
Into something that time
Cannot steal
